Interest on Pinterest

When I first got sick, a little more than 2 years ago now, I found Pinterest. It was precisely the sort of distraction that I needed at that point...as I could only withstand being out of bed for a short time on any given day. Pinterest allowed me to search on subjects that I was interested in...miniature scenery, miniatures, rpgs and so forth. More importantly it ultimately became my motivation...I initially set a goal of finding 10 pins that I could post on a given subject for when I could stand being out of bed. It was my baby steps to not giving up.

After all that time, it turns out that I have accumulated more than 12,100 pins on 32 different boards covering a range of interests.

Miniature Scenery

Left to right:  a step by step  tutorial from 5th Dimension on creating waterfalls
a 1/24th scale Ford Thunderbird Convertible diorama
Rezolution Tokyo Techno terrain gaming table
Those are just 3 pins out of 2,900 pins for Miniature Scenery.
Miniatures

I wanted this gallery to be something more than just a showcase of Games Workshop miniatures and while there are more than a few GW minis there are a good representation of other minis. With 1,900 pins there are also tutorials on painting and basing...plenty of inspiration to be found here.
Infinity: the wargame not the car

In terms of Infinity the game...not a bad little board with more than 500 pins devoted to one of my favorite wargames. Want to see how somebody else painted up a Reverend Healer...we got it. Need some ideas for ultra-cool scenery...it is here.
The only downside is that you need a Pinterest account...which doesn't cost any money and takes just a couple of minutes to setup. The upside is that Pinterest has a myriad of ideas, hacks, and more inspiration than you could act upon in 10 lifetimes!

Sorry to hear about your illness. Mind if I ask what you had?

Meniere's Disease, it isn't contagious and there is no cure for it...you try to manage it through diet and meds. Symptoms include vertigo, hearing loss, ringing in the affected ear, and ear pressure (you can't get the affected ear to pop). The vertigo, for me, results in a motion sickness where my vision won't lock (you can see my eyes snapping from side to side) and normally vomiting every half hour (a bad bout can last up to 8 hours).

At its worst I was laid out for up five days a week with the vertigo and vomiting. These days I have more good days than bad days and I certainly don't take the good days for granted! :-)

Dude that sucks. I guess that is why we have not gotten more Frostgrave videos.

It has been a major contributor to the YouTube video situation.
