Shock Troopers wore Stormtrooper armor with distinctive red markings, recruited from the best of the ranks of Imperial Stormtroopers they served as front line forces for assaults and even as bodyguards.

Shadow Troopers were a specialized variant of the standard Imperial Stormtrooper, wearing black armor equipped with prototype cloaking devices.

Death Troopers are the elite bodyguards of the Empire, reserved for high ranking officials. 

Grand Moff Tanniel was in charge of development of Storm Commandos which were created in a direct response to Rebel tactics. They are the tip of the spear in the Imperial arsenal, taking on specialized missions where something other than a sledgehammer is required.
