First, as a German player I have been wishing for a better selection of medium armor and now we have it...PzKw V Ausf. G...the Panther. I have bounced a few rounds but it is not something that I would expect to do on a consistent basis (i.e. keep that wrench handy). The 7.5cm KwK 42 L/70 is a great cannon against enemy tanks using the APCR round, looking at 2 or 3 shots depending on where you hit. I raced a PzKw IV to an objective and the Panther won by a decent margin. What is most striking about this tank though is the sound, it literally almost sounds like a big cat growling. The MG 34 has a very distinctive deeper staccato along with the report of the main cannon and the reload. I have noted that all MG 34's mounted on tanks have this new sound file.
The M29 Weasel remains elusive at this point for my sole US Army character, but I should have it in a few days. What I have seen is that you are not going to be dodging tank shells with it as it is pretty sluggish in the maneuverability category. However, it carries 2 supply crates for those who have been dying (literally) for a Health and Ammo on a single vehicle, it is what you have been looking for. This is one of those vehicles that is going to be best used back from an objective tucked away someplace. Not a game changer but very useful none the less.
The US brown camo...finally! The bright green fatigues and camo stick out badly, pretty much anywhere but the shadows. One observation, I get the feeling that camo wearing characters draw more fire...probably doesn't help that my guy is carrying the hated M1/M2 carbine of death. The camo works very well in woods with bushes...as long as...you remain stationary (that is true of all camo though). Pretty much on par with the Russian tan uniforms, which on certain maps are like Harry's invisibility cloak at times.
I have heard some US Army players complain that the German gear is OP (Over Powered) along with the regular In Channel whining about cheaters, lag, and retard team members. Don't feel bad US Army players, some of the Wehrmacht players do the same thing In Channel.
Speaking of In Channel chat topics. While a little venting is accepted for the love of God...enough with relitigating the out come of the war. Rather than typing out your doctorial thesis for that history PhD...maybe...I don't know...play the game??? The channel is meant to be used for warning about Russian tankers camping our spawns not delusional asshats giving us their "expert" opinions on gear, strategy, or their version of the grasshopper in China theory. Seriously, it is about as annoying as team killing...maybe a just a bit more depending the asshat involved.
With all that said...play games and have fun!
