A Stronghold...

Stronghold Terrain is previewing a number of accessories for their upcoming modern CRISIS line of scenery. For the 28mm WW2 gamer this new line of scenery is going to offer a host of opportunities to detail out your game tables.

This line is built around more than just accessories though, it has 5 different ruined buildings. While laser cut hardboard buildings can bring a lot to any gaming table it can be nigh impossible to find a convincing ruined building. Stronghold Terrain specializes in diorama quality items and these ruined  buildings are simply stunning!

The word is that these items are going to be available in their online store by mid-November, just in time for some serious holiday shopping!

Fantasy Flight Games announce 'Nexus of Power'...

"A tangle of tree roots in the swamps of Dagobah. Labyrinthine crystal caves beneath the surface of Ilum. Ancient ruins in the north of Lothal. The towering pillars of the Jedi Temple on Corsuscant. These scattered sites have in common a prodigiously strong connection with the Force, which has made them hallowed to the Jedi and now largely forbidden under the Empire. But to those who dare to visit them, they offer shocking epiphanies, difficult trials, mystical knowledge, and valuable artifacts."

Now you can "visit these iconic places and many more. Its 144 stunningly illustrated pages provide lavish details on places strong with the Force, such as Dagobah’s tree cave and worlds with rich Force traditions, such as Bardotta. Eight modular encounters provide Game Masters ready-made gateways into these locations that can be used as single-session adventures or launching points for entire campaigns. Players will find new playable species, vehicles, and gear, as well as plentiful resources for crafting Force sensitive characters with rich backgrounds and distinctive personalities."

Worlds Strong with the Force "Among the galaxy’s millions of planets only a scant few resonate with the Force. Twelve of these rare worlds are opened up in Nexus of Power."

Temples and Wellsprings "A vergence is a place where the Force concentrates like a whirlpool in a flowing river. That place may be a small cave or an entire planet where light and dark constantly vie for surpremacy. Many Jedi temples, including the one on Coruscant, are built atop vergences that lie deep in the earth."

New Species "The Force manifests itself among different cultures and species in different ways. The four playable species found in Nexus of Power exemplify that."

They state that Nexus of Power will be available in the first quarter of 2015...I think they mean 2016.

A Gate...a really big gate!

News from Tabletop World is that they have a new project in the works.

"Here is a sneak peek of our current project - a Town Gate! For this Christmas we decided to do something really special. The model will be massive and highly detailed with fully operational gates. It will be released around November 15. This is just a "work in progress" picture of the part of the building. We still have a lot of work to do."

If you are not familiar with their scenery line, I highly recommend you swing by and check it out. Top shelf scenery manufacturer based out of the UK, while the US dollar is relatively strong and oil is at a low it might be the time to make that investment.

Just a taste of what they have to offer...

Cigar Box Battle Mats has two new battle mats for your gaming tables. Space Frontier and City Fight! While I opted to picture the 4x6 version of the Space Frontier mat, it is available in 3x3. All of their mats are made from durable fleece.

With the popularity of Star Wars X-Wing, Armada and it looks like Dropfleet Commander as well, the less busy design of the Space Frontier mat is a great fit for these games. It certainly is in the price zone with the 4x6 at $69 USD, you can even have them add hexes (1", 2", 3" or 4") for free!

With only 10 days to go the Kickstarter of Sword & Sorcery (designed by Gremlin Project and distributed by Ares Games) has 3,001 and $332,501 pledged (as of publication time). Some of the features of the game...

Solo Play: A single player can control two or more heroes and play the entire campaign.

Character Customization: 10 classes, 7 Soul Ranks per hero, 50 different hero powers, more than 100 items (weapons, magic artifacts, and soul weapons).

Combat & Magic System: This system is based on two types of custom 10-sided dice and an intuitive cooldown management of spells and skills creating spectacular fights. No need to worry about numbers or consulting tables, just icons and quick strategic decisions.

Modular Boards: Each map tile is double sided and created to be interconnected with any other tile, allowing the creation of many new quests.

90 Minute Experience: Quests are designed to be completed in about 90 minutes or less.

The Kickstarter version comes with additional material that will not be available in the retail version so you may want to swing by and check it out while you still have time!

The Battletech Kickstarter has only 56 hours to go and it is going to be a nail biter!

Let me be clear, the project is backed and will go forward.

However, at the time of this post, they have $2,274,941 pledged with an impressive 33,500 backers. Which means that they are $226,000 short of the PvP mode.

Lets get the word out and push this project over that final line! After all we all have that special friend that we would like to pulverize in a PvP match.
