If you were like me...you didn't make it to GenCon this year but that doesn't mean you can't find out what went down. Seems like Fantasy Flight Games has just a bit of news from the best 4 days in gaming.

Systema Gaming has just come out with a bundle (Base-O Full Table Bundle) which includes... Base-0 Game Mat (NEW) HQ Unit Objective Unit Habitat Unit 1 Habitat Unit 2 Level 1 Walkway Level 2 Walkway Storage Silo Boxes & Containters All for €199.90 ($221.96 USD). Sort of...off topic...Suicide Squad...let's go there. NO SPOILERS
So, a lot of critics have taken a collective poo on Suicide Squad. After going to see it I have absolutely no idea why they got their knickers in a twist. It was a good movie. Margot Robbie steals the show. Jared Leto...is NOT Heath Ledger but that isn't his fault. Will Smith is alright. Enchantress is pretty cool with the first transformation. Jason Bourne on the other hand... OMG...can somebody put an end to the F*#$ING SHAKY CAMERA and the idiot jump cuts?????? What an absolute way to ruin an otherwise good movie. My personal recommendation...don't bother with Bourne. Ok...that is it for now! Hey, if you want more wacky MacAttack geekdom check out... MacAttack001 on Pinterest MacAttack001 on YouTube MacAttack001 on Twitter Warlord Games is now taking pre-orders for Bolt Action Second Edition! Interesting changes... Armed transports, the squad deploys but the driver can take a day trip and can let loose with the vehicles mg! Big explosions, HE blasts now use templates to determine damage! Officers activate other units, so you can order multiple units to advance or fire together. Not quite down with Warlord Games or Bolt Action...turns out they have something else up their sleeve. I give to you the...SD.KFZ.234 MIT LUCHS TURM! This more than likely...one off...was what happens when men with cutting torches and welders have too much free time on their hands. All you need is a Panzer II Luchs turret and one Sd Kfz 234/2 chassis. It is now available from Warlord Games here. The picture below shows the only known example serving with the 20 Pz.Div Hungary April 1945. Warsenal is offer these GenCon limited edition releases for Infinity...when they are gone...their gone. Warsenal Studio B (Alcazana range of Haqqislam-themed terrain) Taugak Redoubt (Morat Trenchworks System) Taugak Headquarters (Morat Trenchworks System)
If you were waiting for the moment to dust off your TIE Defender...it has arrived! Imperial Aces gives you two title cards, the TIE/x7 and the TIE/D which make the Defender not only a valuable asset but one that is going to be hard not to choose. I'll take Twin Ion Engine Mk. II, Countess Ryad, Push the Limit and a box of Huggies (for my opponent). That's right, 10 green maneuvers to burn stress, green straight maneuvers 2-5 that you can swap out into green K-turns, 1 free evade for 3-5speed maneuvers. If that doesn't warm up your maneuvering thrusters...you get 2 actions every round! All this...while shaving 2 points off your TIE/x7 cost. Want something a bit more brutal? Say hello to the TIE/D, two attacks per round. Smack them with a Flechette Cannon, Ion Cannon or Tractor Beam...it really doesn't matter...you are still forcing them to choose when to burn their Evades or Focus. The Twin Ion Engine Mk. II mod and Push the Limit are still excellent choices for this title card. Cardboard Dungeon does a great review of the entire box set...as if you needed more reason to buy the Imperial Veterans Expansion Pack! Let me know what you think in the comments!
So there you are, you got your Infinity army (preferably Nomads) and now you need a table's worth of terrain...what to do? Relax, MC Studio has got your back with their Neo Casa line! For $200 (US) you got everything you need to setup a slick looking table that is sure to have plenty of visual impact. Don't need an entire table? Not a problem... If you have been a member of the Infinity community for a while, you will know that the man behind MC Studios is a fan of the game and his terrain is made for it!
I should note that they are on vacation until August 8th. Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments! Secret Weapon Miniatures has a Kickstarter going for a new line of modular rpg dungeon tiles that nearly slipped by me. With less than 2 weeks remaining this Kickstarter is blowing through its stretch goals and may very well be something that you might be interested in. These tiles are going to be made out of PVC, light weight and more durable than resin...it has a lot to offer. Their choice of material is also why they have teamed up with Reaper, which has considerable experience with PVC. It also means that you have the opportunity to add on a significant number of Reaper minis and paints to your Kickstarter pledge. Tablescape Dungeons looks like a very cool modular RPG dungeon set, be sure to let me know what you think in the comments!
The folks at TT Combat are not ones to sit around pondering what to do next. They have a steady stream of new releases, the most recent products being Brownstone A and Brownstone B. These three story buildings stand 9 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 8 1/4 inches deep. Priced to move, each building is around $18.50 (USD) at current exchange rates (£13.95 GBP). As you can see these buildings are sectional and allow full access to the interior. Loaded with details they are sure to add a lot of character to your game table!
Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments! I just put in my order for Bruce's latest release, the Wooden Beam Mold #226, which compliments his recent run of new molds. This mold is meant for building open structures but certainly could be used in conjunction with a variety of other molds. His blacksmith's shop is absolutely gorgeous, highlighting just what can be done with his molds and just how much character a structure can have. Bruce has suggested that there will be at least one more mold...for something a bit bigger.
Until next time... Unfortunately I can no longer recommend Spectre Miniatures and I will be deactivating their link. Clicking on their red link will bring you to this article.
I think that their miniatures look great and there in lies the angst of this decision. If their product was crap I would have not been so patient with them...over the months and months of orders repeatedly not arriving. The last order (placed in May after two previous attempts failed to show) arrived today (July 9th) and it was missing one of the miniatures that I ordered. At this point I am so utterly fed up with them I do NOT give a shit about the missing miniature I am just glad to be done with them. The only way I would ever consider purchasing another one of their minis is if they got a distributor in the US and I could get it through say the War Store. My recommendation now is save yourself the headache...DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. So your Feldmaster, the revolutionary miniature carry case, is on it's way (you did after all support the Kickstarter right?). As you anxiously wait for its arrival (as I am) you are wondering just how hard is it going to be to assemble? Question answered! |
