So, Fantasy Flight Games has this card game, Android: Netrunner The Card Game, along with novels and a board game Android. Now, they have announced work on The Worlds of Android, which is going to be the definitive 272-page hardbound guide and art book to the Android setting. This of course begs the question, when is the pen and paper Android RPG going to be announced? After all, they do make RPG's and it would seem like a natural fit.

Rumor has it that Legacy Games is developing an Android RPG to run on mobile devices. Just think you can play Android on your Android smart phone.

Speaking solely for myself and as a fan of the cyberpunk genre, I would very much like to see Android produced as a full on pen and paper RPG.

According to Fantasy Flight, the Imperial Assault Carrier is on the boat. This expansion pack for X-Wing puts at your command a Gozanti-Class Cruiser (pre-painted) with two TIE fighter escorts, 11 ship cards, 26 upgrades with 4 new missions for cinematic play.

One might speculate that the 4 new ace TIE pilots included in this set are meant to bolster the waning use of TIE swarms in competitive play. It is certainly going to be one of the last economical means to pick up standard TIE fighters for your swarm (seeing how the new box sets are geared to the TIE's from Episode VII).

While I am excited about this addition to the Imperial naval arsenal, I can't help but feel that the Scum and Villainy faction has not seen any love when it comes to the really big ships.

Westwood Woodworks is starting their Kickstarter today (Friday) for the Illumistation, a transportable painting station. With the ability to hold 100 paints, your paintbrushes, other hobby materials and a day-lamp LED you are going to be able to use this painting station virtually anywhere! Gearing up for some Black Ops I have started looking around for a broader selection of 28mm modern miniatures, which has led me to Eureka Miniatures USA. One of the things that makes Empress Miniatures standout is their line Vehicles. Nothing shouts road rage like a Toyota Pickup with a ZU-23 mounted in the back! From Humvee's (TOW, .50 cal, Mk19 Grenade, Weapons Station) to Stryker ICV, their range of vehicles in 1/50th scale is comprehensive and very evocative.

4Ground is gearing up for pre-orders of their new 28mm sci-fi line of terrain Jesserai, starting on October 30th! These buildings come with two types of acetate for the windows, clear and a 'polarized' orange, allowing you to customize the look. Designed to be generic sci-fi they will be a great fit for a broad range of games.

In case you missed it, even if more than 240,000 others didn't, Vin Diesel got a chance to play some D&D. Beyond the fact that he is without a doubt one of the coolest people playing D&D, what makes this session standout is that he is playing a Witch Hunter! Tying in very nicely with the fact that his new movie 'The Last Witch Hunter' opens this weekend!

Having just got my copy of Black Ops: Tactical Espionage Wargaming I have started going through my miniature collection to see what minis I can use. Well it turns out that there is a company that has a range of miniatures that are a perfect fit for this game, Spectre Miniatures! Their sets cover African Forces, African Militia, African Rebels, GRU Spetsnaz, Insurgents, Middle East/North Africa Militia, and Task Force Operators.

Burn In Designs have added the Blacksmith's shop to their western Rock Ridge line, and she is a beauty! The kit is 2 parts, the main building and the outer courtyard with the forge. James Wapple did the paint job on the model pictured (the model comes unassembled and unpainted), really showing off just how sharp it will look on your gaming table. It should go perfectly with Wild West Exodus!

Rainn Studios has a Kickstarter for their new Crystal Caverns and RPG Campaign Pack. Containing 31 double sided hexagon tiles, which will cover a little more than 12 square feet. One of the interesting things about this Kickstarter is that you can get the complete TerraTiles Collection ($199) which includes 2 boxes of the TerraTiles: Crystal Caverns, 1 RPG Campaign Pack box, 1 box of The Misty Moorlands, and 1 box of Coasts and Rivers!

Considering the flexibility of this product it is certainly a viable alternative for GM's that don't have the time or inclination to build their own terrain.

Living now in the Golden Age of Gaming, I can purchase severely cool vehicles like the Tucuxi Senna for my near future gaming needs. This update has the potential to bring real change to Heroes & Generals! First you have the infantry ONLY Depot Map, this small map features trenches, a large depot in the center of the map with a single control point, with everything else located in a forest. Without the constant drone of airplanes overhead or the devastating firepower of tanks this map will allow for a pure infantry vs. infantry game play.

Next, we have Improved Spawn Protection, given the small size of the Depot Map, they felt it was important to implement a system to dissuade those individual prone to spawn camping. From what I saw of the Dev Stream it seems that you will spawn within your zone but be in Ghost Mode invisible and unable to die. Enemy players that enter the spawn zone will be notified that their weapons are unequipped. Spawning players will find themselves half visible (but invisible to enemy players) this protection lasts until they leave the spawn zone. In Ghost Mode you will be able to enter vehicles be they visible or in Ghost Mode (yes, your tanks are protected too). Ghost vehicles are protected from visible players entering an occupied ghost vehicle to prevent griefing.

Finally, the Enounter Game Mode will be implemented. This mode is active until a player reaches level 3 and designed to facilitate learning the basics, locate, identify and shoot your targets. Another small map with trenches, this has a single objective without planes or tanks to distract new players from learning those crucial basic skills.

They are also implementing some tweaks to the Deploy Queue, which is triggered earlier in 9 player in 2-faction and 6 player in 3-faction (only allowing 1 player over-population). Ever get stuck in a battle at the very end? A much welcomed tweak is tightening up the rules when the match-maker can add players to a battle.

Overall, I am stoked about these changes and what they mean for the future of Heroes & Generals!

FFG (Fantasy Flight Games) has released new FAQs for Star Wars X-Wing and Star Wars Armada! Along with the new tournament rules for X-Wing. The 15 page errata for X-Wing clears up those lingering questions that arise during game play and is just as important for non-tournament players.

Antenociti's Workshop will be releasing the 'City Hopper' in January 2016 for their licensed line of Infinity scenery. It is a hypersonic VTOL that is the preferred mode of travel for the rich and famous. The City Hopper has a small footprint and just as small passenger capacity of three (nothing larger the S2, Infinity players will know what I mean).

While it was designed for Infinity there is no reason it couldn't be used for a host of other sci-fi or near future games.

CNC Workshop Miniature Scenery has made available the Tornado, a transport with detachable troop pod (plus flight stand) and six heavy machine guns! A vehicle that looks this cool could be used in a host of games, from Shadowrun RPG to the Infinity wargame. Clocking in at 222.1mm (8.74 inches) nose to tail and 239mm (9.4 inches) rotor to rotor it will have a measurable presence on the gaming table.

This kit is made from laser cut hardboard, ships from Australia with the PDF instructions available online.
